I never stop being amazed, thrilled and grateful to anyone who takes on a challenge for Cancer Research UK and my goodness this looks like a tough 48 hours.
Richard, thank you for deciding to launch this fundraiser in memory of your Mum, and for putting in all the work behind the scenes, and thank you to all the teams who are joining you in the beautiful Lake District this weekend. I live pretty nearby in the Eden Valley and regularly paddle board on Ullswater “the loveliest of Lakes” as Wainwright called it, and used the fells for my training for Kilimanjaro a few years back (without the altitude!)
I am sure each of you has your own reason for participating and raising funds and as you conquer the Wainwrights you’ll be thinking of the challenges and tough times your friends, colleagues and loved ones may have faced in their cancer journey.
With every step you take this weekend you’ll be bringing us all closer to the day when no-one needs to fear a cancer diagnosis.
